A photograph that i like

This photo was taken by “Guille” (one of my capoeira’s instructors) in a place called "palace culture" in the city of Coquimbo, the last year (2012). In that place are administered many cultural activities, like theather works, musical presentations, dance, visual art, etc. which are both local and nationals. In my case, I was in a group of “capoeira”, a Brazilian martial art with many elements of dance and music. In this photo appears my teammates of capoeira, including my instructors. They have in their hands traditional musical instruments used in capoeira: “berimbau” (large and with form of arc), and “djembé” (a small drum). Behind us is a very big mirror that always we have used for control our techniques. This photo is important for me because even though capoeira is currently active around the world, is an art originated in XIX century, for this reason is something invaluable for me the fact of have practiced this, and contribute to their visual recording. In addition, friendly persons that appears in this photo shared with me not only trainings and fascinating knowledge but also daily activities with me, so they are worthy of my best memories and photos

My mail in my pocket

My favourite technologic object is my android, a kind of cellphone made with cutting edge technology. Besides call my contacts, it serve me to do many of basic functions of a computer because it contains access to internet. I got it about three months ago, recommended by my sister.

The first reason to my preference for this is that i can bring it everywhere, this make possible read an e-mail which could be urgent, in any place without use my PC. If i become bored, i use to navigate in basic pages, like youtube, or chat with my friends, family or classmates in a social network (facebook). When i go on the bus, i don't lose my time, i become read any article or document which serve me to university (an android is best than a notebook for this daily situation). The card inside my android contains a big memory, so if i want to relax i listen music.  This year i joined to university,so currently i use it more than ever. If i don't have this tool ,many of useful things that i do all the days would become to impossible to me. I live very away from university, so i need save on time by many ways, for example, my android.

Harris Marvin

Harris Marvin was an anthropologist that born in New York (USA) in 1927. He studied in Erasmus Hall High School, and years after he served in the army of USA, since 1945 until 1947. He studied in Columbia's University , and should be noted that he was also interested in architecture and carpentry. His most important contribution to anthropology is a theory called "cultural materialism", and for this reason i take hat off to him. Cultural materialism explain us that material conditions, (humans artefacts or something from the nature) and particular climates are fundamental influences in the progresive creation of any human culture. He had a historic opportunity (1956-57') to study natives that have worked by a very hard way, in Mozambique, in the period that this country was a colony belong to Portugal. This experience was the seed of his world view like a human person, and for his general view about anthropological discipline. Some experts of other disciplenes that influenced to Marvin were Karl Marx, Skinner and Julian Steward, and from the anthropology, Franz Boas. He died in 2001, when he was 74 years old

An amazing concert

In 2008, when i was 14 years old, i went to see my favourite band, Iron Maiden. Currently i don't use to listen this band, but i've always respected them. I went to see them in nacional stadium (Santiago, Chile) with my cousins. In any moment we stop singing, we perspire during all the concert. This band has composed many songs about many things, by this way, increasing my personal interestings in history, for example. Something interesting that makes their presentations very extravagants is their "mascot" Eddie the head. Eddie is a anthropomorphic character that walks in the stage, he represents many of the thematic of the songs as a killer, soldier, prisoner, mummy, etc

Some of my short life

I was born in Valparaiso, Chile. My mother's name is Scarlett, and my sister's name is Belen. I'm the oldest brother. Both of us used to be shy childs. Always we played alone or between us. We didn't have many friends in this period (in region of valparaiso). We played improvised games, how "the supermarket" or simply we used to fought. I specially like puzzles. When i was 6 years old, i went to live in Coquimbo with my mother and sister. I went to gabriela mistral's school, and in this place i knew my best friend, Nicolás.  In 2008, when i was 14 years old, i continued my studies in Francis School. In that place i knew many interesting persons (Currently, some times i go to meet with them, in the summer). In this period, i become to interest in Heavy metal music, and some books. I liked too much books like "the lord of the rings" , "the good earth" or "la ultima niebla" of Maria Luisa Bombal, under the influence of my language's teacher. Later, since i was 16 years old until currently, i have liked martial arts. Recently, i have started my Anthropology studies in university of Chile.
